I just ordered and received two awesome books. I'm so inspired by them.
I'm not going to teach anyone how to sew as I feel I am somewhat of a novice.
I would like to share some of the things I have made from them.
The thing I like about Japanese sewing books is that the proportions seem to be made for me.
I am what most call petite but petite sizes do not fit me well nor do I find the average petite style offering to be... let me say "contemporary" It seems most designers of clothes and patterns think that if a woman is petite she is really wide really old and really short in the waist. I am neither.
So I started out with Sew Chic. This is what I made
Pattern S - sleeveless blouse with frill and Pattern L- straight cut sarouel pants.
Pattern T- double cuff Bermuda shorts with the frill blouse. I used a lovely toile fabric by the way.
this is the frill blouse in a white really light weight cotton with the shorts.
And finally the sarouel pants with the white blouse. I don't think I would ever wear these pants with anything but a tight tee shirt as so much volume overwhelms me.
